Selena Gomez was having some late-night thoughts Monday evening when she took to Snapchat to try and press rewind on her viral comments regarding ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
The drama first sparked Sunday night when the "Sorry" singer asked his fans not to berate his rumored new flame, Sofia Richie, by way of harsh social media comments. While the Grammy winner and model publicly maintain they are just friends, Richie's face popped up on Bieber's social media several times, leading to aggressive Belieber speculation.
"I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand," he wrote on Instagram. "If you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."
Gomez subsequently added her two cents to the mix. "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only," she reportedly wrote in the comment section. "Don't be mad at your fans. They love you."
However, the remark only made Bieber take aim at his own former love for allegedly taking advantage of him. "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love," he reportedly clapped back in the comments. "I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers."
Not so fast! The "Hands to Myself" singer issued another not-so-subtle slam toward the crooner on Instagram. "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
The digital sparring continued as Bieber responded with the name of a fellow pop star. "I cheated...Oh and I forgot about you and Zayn [Malik]?" he allegedly commented, according to screen grabs that have since gone viral.
While the commentary seemed to have subsided, Gomez reignited the conversation by backtracking on the entire ordeal. "What I said was selfish and pointless."
Meanwhile, Bieber took his threat one step further—he has since deleted his Instagram account.
